I am now seriously looking forward to next year and the start of the Hypercars.
This week the participants for the 2020 edition were announced. I have update my Excel file to add all the additional 24 teams to the current WEC teams. The file can be found on JJ’s Cloud HERE.
I can provide a copy of the actual Excel file if interested for your own use. Just send me your email in a comment.
I was on holiday in Morocco but had, for a change, brought my laptop with me and was therefore able to watch most of the race on it courtesy of fiawec.com. A very good race with loads of action in the GT class.
I have as usual noted the results in my WEC 2019/2020 Excel file which can be found in JJ’s Cloud.
I know that Austin was a last minute decision to replace Sao Paulo which had to be cancelled at the last minute but it was very sad to see almost empty grand stands. Why bring races to countries where people are not interested. That is a question for the FIA.
The event scheduled to take place today February 1st for the 1st time since 2014 had to be cancelled due to financial reasons and namely due to the fact that the Brazilian promoters did not respect their financial obligations.
This 5th race of the season will be replaced by the 6 hours of Austin on February 3rd.
They made it and did get the overall win of 4 Hours of Shanghai. The winners by categories were:
LMP1
LMP2
LM GTE PRO
LM GTE AM
I have started a file with the results for each race on the calendar which gives a fairly good overview. It can be found here.
The next race is on December 14th for the 8 Hours of Bahrain.
Keep racing
At last, a private team leading the pack.
Nice to see a Rebellion on pole position
1st September 2019

It is now less than a month ago that I was in Le Mans for the last race of the 2018 / 2019 super season. An excellent few days / weekend it was too.
And before we now it, the new season 2019 / 2020 is starting with the Prologue which will take place in Barcelona on July 23rd & 24th. I might go there as it is less than 3 jours drive from my house. It is not everyday one can enjoy these cars and atmosphere for free.
The provisional calendar is available as follows:
